Why we recommend it

The Fortress is built around a courtyard behind high walls, opening onto its own stretch of Koggala beach. It is the most comfortable south-coast base we use.

Galle Fort is a short drive, which makes it a good place to end a trip: fort in the morning, beach in the afternoon.
